Kristina Moanike'alaokalaua'e Lontayao
Velez
Kristina started dancing in 1993, at the age of 6 with
Iwalani's School of Dance, Kumu Hula
Iwalani Tseu. In 1994 she continued her training with Kumu Hula Aloha
Dalire of Keolalaulani Hālau 'Olapa O Laka. She was given the role of Alaka'i
by her father and
Kumu Hula Greg Lontayao in 2000. She currently assists teaching the
Kaikamāhine and Wāhine classes.
As a professional dancer,
Kristina has performed on the Star of Honolulu and Kalo's South Seas Revue at the South Seas Village at
the Hawaiian Hut.
Kristina and Ikaika Velez married in 2010, their
daughter Ava Kealohaokalauaʻepilikahakai is just starting her career as a
Hula Dancer and Emma Kaleialohaokalaua'epililkahakai just arrived in December
2013.
